Forever Families is a group of people that come together who have been touched by adoption and/or foster care. Their goal is to have a safe place to support each other with conversation, prayer and sometimes just a listening ear. Forever Families meets the second Sunday of each month. This group is designed for single mothers agreeing that no single mom needs to walk alone! On September 12 we will begin a study in Judges with Skip Heitzig. Fans of historical romance, military history, soap operas, conspiracy theories, spy novels, swashbuckling adventure, or political intrigue will find it all here in the book of Judges! But from a broader and deeper perspective, Judges is essentially the story of a deteriorating nation—and it serves as a sober warning against deterioration in our own nation and in our own personal lives. Join other ladies for a study using Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst. God wants us to live loved when we feel left out, lonely, and less than. This study is a beautiful reminder that you are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or taken—a love that does not reject or uninvite. This is a nine-week class using Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace curriculum. Each week is a one-hour teaching by Dave Ramsey followed by small group discussions. Biblical and practical steps are presented on how to get rid of debt, save, budget, manage money and give. This 4-week class teaches how character-centered communication can create success! Understanding this principal will empower you to communicate efficiently, productively and effectively. This may be the single most important life skill we all need to learn. This in-depth communication analysis includes many other insightful tools to enable you to communicate more effectively. It will benefit you in your marriage, your family, your career and every other relationship. Based on the giftings of the Father from Romans 12, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can communicate in a way that is God honoring. This class will be Wednesdays, October 24 & 31 and November 7 & 14. Led by Randy & Lynn Huisinga.

In this 5-week class you will learn from the team that went to the Dominican Republic how to prepare and share your one-minute witness. You have seen others in church live and on the screen during services, now you can prepare and share one of your own. This class will be September 12, 19 & 26 and October 3 & 10. Perspectives on Islam    6:30pm    Encore East

Islam & Christianity: A Study of the Messenger, Message and Mission of the Qur’an and the Bible—Is the god of Islam, Allah, just another name for the same God that Jews and Christians worship? Did the biblical prophets and patriarchs of the Old Testament,orship the same god as Muslims? Is the Allah of the Qur’an compatible with and the same as the God of the Old and New Testament scriptures of the Jews and Christians? This Study Guide is an effort to closely compare the ministry of Jesus and the message of the New Testament to that of Muhammad and the message of the Qur’an. This class will be led by James F. Gauss, Ph.D., author of the highly endorsed book, Islam & Christianity, A Revealing Contrast.

In Luke 18:1, Jesus told His disciples a parable and encouraged them that they should “always pray and not give up.” Persistent prayer is vital for Christians as we face many situations in life. We will begin each night with a short devotional and then we will pray for our pastors, leaders and other needs in the body of Christ. Led by Char Dykstra & Jan VanEps.

The third Thursday of each month at 11:45am, seniors meet at a local restaurant and enjoy lunch together! If you are single and over 50 or have a spouse in a permanent care facility, please contact Lynn at 320-295-9682 so we can add your name to our mailing list. Share a meal with new and known friends at a sit-down dinner served at 6:00pm, followed by a full-length movie and ending with dessert. Forgiveness, or the lack thereof, is at the root of many issues in life and is manifested in many different ways which can include spiritual oppression, wrong emotions and physical problems. God’s ER leads people through the process of forgiveness and how to be free from everything that is not of the character of Christ. Led by Mike O’Brien.

As followers of Christ, “worship” is the first purpose of our lives and the sanctuary choir recognizes and embraces this truth!  Each Thursday evening from 6:30– 8:00pm we come together to prepare music for Sunday services that will enhance the worship experience and encourage the body of Christ. Our rehearsals are great opportunities for fellowship, ministry and fun! This year we are opening choir participation to everyone 9th grade and older—no experience necessary. If you would like to connect with others who love music and desire to worship God in Spirit and in truth, please join us! Childcare is provided if needed by calling the church office.
