Our Sanctuary Choir will sing a special selection of patriotic music, and Chief Warrant Officer 4 James "Tony" Prescott will share a special message with us.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 James “Tony” Prescott was born and raised in Texas. He joined the Army in June of 1988 and attended Basic Training, Advanced Infantry Training, and Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA. In 1991 he was medically retired from the Army, due to injuries as an Airborne Infantry Soldier. He attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma University. After college he gained employment with the United Nations in Egypt and Israel, where he learned to speak Russian, Arabic, and Italian. His primary job was teaching United Nations Soldiers and Officers hand to hand combat techniques.
In May of 1999, Tony met the love of his life, Sheri, and they were married in November of that same year. The Lord has since blessed them with four children; Savannah, Alisa, Levi, and Joshua, and are expecting a new addition in October.
On September 11 th 2001, their lives were forever changed. After the attacks on September 11th, Tony was recruited back into the Army due to his developed skills to assist in the fight against terrorism. Soon after Tony reenlisted, he was sent to Iraq, during the initial stages of the conflict.
Tony has since had multiple combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world.
In December of 2005 Tony attended Warrant Officer Candidate School, where he was commissioned as an Army Officer. During his career, Tony served thus far as Detachment Commander, Special Agent in Charge, Senior Staff Counterintelligence advisor to the Commanding General, Chief of Operations for Insider Threat at Special Operations Command, Counterintelligence Coordinator for Special
Operations in Afghanistan, and currently assuming the role of Counterintelligence Coordinator for all of Special Forces in Europe. Tony was recently awarded Counterintelligence Agent of the Year by the Department of Defense.
His military awards include; two Bronze Star Medals, a Purple Heart, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Medal, The Army Accommodation Medal, and the Joint Military Unit Award.
